A few years ago, someone asked, “How do you stay so calm in the midst of adversity?” I told them, it’s something I’ve developed called The MindShift Method.
At that time, I was dealing with a very difficult situation which may have caused some to panic, overreact and exhibit anger.
This person watches me do none of that.
I realized at that time, that I’d developed a framework for shifting my mind.
Today, we’re dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic and we are on quarantine. In my state, every non-essential business has been closed down including the Las Vegas Strip (mind included).
If there was ever a time to introduce The MindShift Method to you, it’s now. The framework is simple in theory, but harder in practice.
What is The MindShift Method Created by Darrell Evans
Step 1: Make Peace
This first step is required before the shift can begin. Separate the emotion. Deal with the facts as they are. That’s it.
Step 2: Make a Decision
Decisions are made by answering a number of questions that help you get clear on what you really want.
- What are you going to do about the situation?
- What matters most?
- Where do you want to go from here?
- What am I in control of?
These are just a few questions you may want to ask yourself as you
Step 3: Make a Plan
Nothing good happens from randomness. You must order the steps that will lead you to where you want to do. You may not always know the plan. Seek help and guidance on this step.
Step 4: Make it Happen
Now, it’s time to “Do the Reps!” Which simply means, get to work. Nothing is going to happen if we wait and see. Coaches are great because they will keep you accountable.
